Hello! Approximately every couple of hours of work and using hotkeys (Q, S, A, D, W, E) to move through the animation keys on the timeline, they simply stop working. Closing/ opening the program does not help. I have to reboot the laptop so that the hotkeys work again. I do not use any third-party applications for the keyboard. I tried with another keyboard attached - the problem ### remained the same - approximately every 2 hours you need to reboot the laptop to get rid of this annoying bug.

Bagin I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. Is your editor version the latest 4.2? I would appreciate it if you could post the spine.log file to see if any problems are logged in it. Please see the following troubleshooting page for the location where the spine.log file is stored:

Bagin Sorry for the late reply! It appears you are using the latest Spine launcher and editor.

You mentioned in a previous post that you are unable to double-click to remove a key when using a pen tablet, can the issue you mention in this post about the hotkeys not being available when the pen tablet is unplugged be resolved?

No, when I turn off the tablet, the problem with hotkeys (Q, S, A, D, W, E) remains the same

Bagin Thank you for your reply. I am trying to reproduce this problem using a Windows laptop, but it has been about 2 hours of using the hotkeys from time to time and I have not been able to reproduce the problem yet. Since no other users have reported similar problems, I'm wondering if some software or setting running in the background on your laptop is affecting it, but since there's nothing in the spine.log, it's quite difficult to determine the specific cause.
I wish I could find another clue. Did you encounter this problem as soon as you started using Spine 4.2? Or was there a period of time when you were able to use 4.2 without any problems? You mentioned in your previous post that everything works fine in 3.8, does the problem occur in 4.1?

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. I switched from 3.8 straight to 4.2 and these problems with hotkeys started...

Bagin I understand. We apologize for the inconvenience, but could you please try to see if it works correctly with 4.1, since 4.2 is actually the version with the various changes regarding hotkeys that may have something to do with this, but since we cannot reproduce the problem, we are not sure where the problem lies.

Hello! Situation update. I apologize for the misunderstanding. I found out what the problem was. While working, I accidentally press capslock and because of this, the W and A keys stop working, and R and F make a jump of 10 frames instead of 1. I couldn’t even think that capslock affects this. Thanks for replies!

Bagin I see, I missed the possibility that capslock might have been enabled! Glad you found the cause, and thanks for getting back to us 🙂

Misaki Hello! Tell me, please, is there any way to disable the influence of CAPSLOCK on these hotkeys? It's not very convenient when this happens. I constantly have to switch it to use the hotkeys normally.

Bagin It may be possible, but hotkeys are actually a glitch-prone area, and given the number of hotkeys currently available in Spine and the time required to test that they all work properly, it may be a long time before we can address this.

If you find it difficult to notice that Caps Lock is on because it is hard to see how the key you are typing is recognized, you may want to enable Hotkey Popups. This can be enabled by pressing Ctrl + Shift + K and will inform you of the contents of the hotkey as you type it:

This is a useful feature for workshops and tutorial videos, but it can also help you verify that the hotkeys you set up are recognized as expected.

Misaki Thanks, I knew about this feature. But to be honest, I don’t like it because it blocks the view of the timeline and I have to wait for it to disappear. For me, this feature is just a complete irritation.

And in my case with capslock this will not help. It would be convenient to disable the effect of capslock in Spine completely.
