Help Forum?
Hey there
I don't really have bug reports it's more that I don't find the things cause I'm a starter to Spine.
So my first suggestion would be: What about opening a help forum for everyone?
( sorry if it already exists and I just didn't find it ^^#)
First question:
How do I scale body parts without scaling everything?
Practical example is that I want to animate the upper body for a constant secondary breath animation.
I found out that I when I scale the upper body everthing below in the hiracy will skale with it.
A work around would be to set a seperate bone for the ribcage to animate it, but that is not so practical.
Also I can set all the other bones to "not inherit" scale in the setup menu.
But it seems that still the position of the arm bones will scale with it.
Is there another way to do this?
- I found a changelog which said: Background images
After a few time searching I found that you can set every image attached to a bone to BG - what is cool.
But is it also possible to loop the background - especially for iso-view this can be super helpfull to see if the animation is right.
my current workaround is a second skeleton where the BG is included - and I animate it just there.
ut is there a better way?
I worked with the Pro vesion - 1.6.41
I hope anyone can help me ^^
This is the help forum.
1) You can use bone compensation so when you scale the upper body the child bones are scaled and translated the opposite.
2) Using a second skeleton is probably the best way.
Oh wow super fast reply! thank you!
1) how do I switch this on? wher do I find it?
2) okay ^^#
Click the Bones button in the Compensate group on the main toolbar.
You can also set the bones to not inherit scale. Here I've disabled scale inheritance on the selected bones. Image removed due to the lack of support for HTTPS. | Show Anyway
Thanks for the replys.
But both didn't really work.
The main problem is that the hips and the front legs still move - even when compensate is enabeled and even when the inherit scale is turned off.
In the picture you see
left: where the upperbody is not scaled and
on the right where the body is scaled but the bones shift their starting point because of the scale of the bone.
Since it is not possible to only scale the body image I guess the only solution for me is to build an seperate bone where none of the limpf is child too.
Or any other?
poke
There was a bug where compensation for scale wasn't affecting translation of the children if the children did not inherit scale. Fixed in 1.6.43, thanks!
Using a bone that is not a parent of the legs is an option.
You can also make the bone that holds the slot for the chest or breathing parts to branch out so the other body parts aren't its children. It's cleaner than bone compensation and maybe makes a bit of sense vs. disabling inheritance, depending on the situation.
thank you both
