Question about skins, please help!
Is there a way for me to duplicate attachments when making a new skin placeholder without it checking every skin for the attachment? For example, it finds (path) poncho-1/poncho, poncho-2/poncho, ... but then it goes on within other skins looking for poncho (bowtie-1/poncho, bowtie-2/poncho) giving me these 'missing' poncho mesh spaces because it doesn't exist. Or is that normal? I've been deleting those extra meshes in each skin and it is very time-consuming. Or am I doing things wrong? Is there a better way to add multiple skins especially with mesh (for same art only with different color)?
Thank you so much, I would appreciate any help! I'm still trying to understand using the skins function in Spine and I'm still not quite there yet.
Hello, I assume you are using the dialogue that asks if you want to duplicate the attachment for each skin when making a new skin placeholder?
Skins - Spine User Guide: New skin placeholder
Simply do not check that option, and instead select the attachment inside the skin placeholder, duplicate it, move it outside the skin placeholder, select the actual skin you want it into, and move it back into the skin placeholder. Then change the image path if it needs to feature a different image.
If a skin should be an exact recolor of another, it may also be quicker to select the skin you want to copy from the skins node, duplicate it, assign the name of the folder where teh new images are located, then check "Rename attachments" to have the above procedure automatically performed on all the attachments belonging to the skin.
