Castle Game Engine http://castle-engine.sourceforge.net/engine.php is a cross-platform (Windows, Linux, MacOSX, Android, iOS...) open-source 3D/2D engine. It is developed for FPC/Lazarus using a modern Object Pascal language.
We have just released a new version 5.1.1 of the engine that officially adds support for Spine 2D animations in our engine 🙂 The full release annoucement is on http://castle-engine.sourceforge.net/news.php?id=2014-12-30 , and a lot of information specific to Spine and 2D is on https://sourceforge.net/p/castle-engine/wiki/Spine/ . It lists supported Spine features, and shows developers how to use Spine animations to make beauiful 2D games 🙂

We have also released a small demo showing Castle Game Engine + Spine on Google Play ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.sourceforge.castleengine.castlespine ) for Android, and on https://sourceforge.net/projects/castle-engine/files/castle_spine/ for Windows / Linux.
