NSIS Error: "Error launching installer"

Hi.

I'm trying to install Spine trial but I'm getting a pop-up error when launching saying "Error launching installer" (see attached image).

I already tried re-downloading the setup in case it's corrupted and it's not an anti-virus issue.

Is this the trial or full installer?

You can run the installer from the command line like this:

SpineSetup.exe /NCRC

This bypasses the integrity check. This is not recommended though, because if the installer file has been partially downloaded or damaged then the resulting installed program may not work.

You might clear your browser cache (try ctrl+shift+delete, choose only Cache so you don't lose saved passwords, etc) before downloading the setup file again.

Some pages on the internet recommend renaming the file or changing your Windows language, but this should not make a difference.

It's the trial (http://esotericsoftware.com/spine/setup/trial/SpineTrialSetup.exe)

I cleared the cache & re-downloaded but still same error, even with /NCRC.

Edit: I was reluctant to try because it seemed silly, but renaming the file actually worked. :yes:

I don't have any idea why that would work, but here we are. :o Glad it is working now!
