If I create an animation that uses negative scales inside of spine, everything looks fine in the animate preview. When I put it in the game, it looks all weird.

You see how the rear leg points down instead of back? The head points back instead of down.
*I know I can use flipX to reverse the animation, however if I do that then I can't blend if the monster does something that inverts his animation again (like climb a wall). (Blending would make him rotate the wrong direction though the wall before stopping on it.)
