Hi, sorry, it is the middle of the night here.
So, the app works but hangs after selecting something from a file file dialog? Can you try holding shift while you click to open the file dialog? This will open an alternate file dialog that may work better. I do have Windows 8 here and will try it out when I wake up tomorrow.

Thanks for your respone Nate!
Yes that's the case with the trial version, the full version did not even start initially.
Pressing shift does not help, it keeps going to "Not responding state"

Just FYI.. I'm using spine with Win8 and no problems so far. So whatever the issue is it's not specifically related to the new OS.

Maybe i am missing something runtime related?
I have a fairly new w8 install (new laptop)

We haven't had any luck reproducing it here unfortunately, so it's really difficult to figure out what is going wrong. We haven't forgotten about you though.

Too bad, I can't seem to find what is wrong.
Does it save an error log somewhere?

Have you tried running it as administrator? Are your java runtimes up to date? How about your opengl/video card drivers?

Just FYI... I saw a similar issue on Win7 after i had maximised the main window (specifically pressed the maximise button). The next file dialog that appeared was *behind* the main window, and i couldn't get to it without going through the task manager. It gave the appearance that the app wasn't responding, but really it was waiting for the file dialog to be done.

Just wanted to let you guys know that Nate is currently working on fixing the problem, can't give you an ETA I'm afraid. Hopefully sometime tomorrow, for now just stay in Maximized mode and not fullscreen.

I believe we fixed the issue. Can you download Spine again? It will be version 1.0.3.

Just wondering if the fix has been brought to the trial version? I am checking out the latest trial version and still experiencing similar file opening issue.
No response (well... except the screen flashes for a second or two) from selecting "Open Project..." or CTRL-O for the first few times. After 2 or 3 tries, the file dialogue eventually pops up but the editor then hangs there. I have to use the Task Manager to kill the editor.
With the previous version, I was able to open few samples before this happened. Once it happened, I could never open other projects. Just downloaded the latest trial version and was hoping the problem had been solved but it's still the same.
Is there a config/setting file somewhere generated by the editor? Maybe I should delete it and try again?
Really like to get Spine working on my system. It looks really promising and I've already backed it on KickStarter
Here is the log for my system:

dr_watson, you seem to be using Windows 7. Spine is developed on Windows 7, so not sure why you'd see an issue like this. Also the issue described in this thread only happens in fullscreen (though it has been fixed). Have you tried it not in fullscreen? Have you tried holding shift before and during the dialog opening?

It happened in both windowed/full screen mode. If I am holding Shift while clicking on "Open Project...", the file dialog opens every time when I do so, but still hangs. I can see the text input cursor flashing in the dialog but I can't key in anything and I can't close the file dialog. I have to use the Task Manager again to kill the app.Nate je napisao/la:dr_watson, you seem to be using Windows 7. Spine is developed on Windows 7, so not sure why you'd see an issue like this. It's really odd! I guess I'll try the Mac version instead. My machine is an iMac with both Win7 and Mac OS installed. Most of my development work is done on Win7 though.

Do you have the drive mounted as a network drive or something similar ? We are unable to reproduce it, so it's very difficult to do something about unless we get more details.dr_watson je napisao/la:It's really odd! I guess I'll try the Mac version instead. Also, what was the result of running it on Mac OS?

Win7 was installed on its own partition using Bootcamp so it's just normal Hard Disk setting.Shiu je napisao/la:Do you have the drive mounted as a network drive or something similar ? Yes, the Mac OS version works fine

Thanks for this great tool and looking forward to the generic C++ support!
